“telling the story of Army Leadership”
The Patton Museum is an official Army Museum, focused on telling the story of Army Leadership from 1775 to the present. It is currently undergoing a transformation that will last until Summer 2013. The mission of the General George Patton Museum is to collect, preserve, interpret and exhibit any objects, documents, images and artifacts related to the Fort Knox installation and commands or units associated with Fort Knox from 1918 to the present, Army leadership, Army recruiting history, and the history of ROTC. An important part of this mission is the history of General George S. Patton, especially as he ties in to the overall story of the U.S. Army, leadership, and Fort Knox.
Again, by the time we got done with security and was able to enter Fort Knox the museum was closed (1/2 hour earlier than posted) so we didn't even get to see anything..........
The museums static displays were disappointing. It seens most have been moved. We were told the are moving ti Georgia but ......
The few displays are interesting.
