Famous for their onion-filled sliders. Situated in the old downtown business district, across the street from the U.S. District Federal Courthouse. Over the years many businesses have moved away from the center city as the city expanded, but Powers Hamburgers has stood steadfast since 1940. The small white Art Deco style building with black trim and black and white awnings hasn't changed much since it opened.
I have been coming to Powers for almost 61 years. I have tried the 'White Castle' and the 'Crystal" restaurants and found that they do NOT have the flavor of Powers. An honest to goodness onion... Read more
