“A great way to begin your visit”
*Exhibits are currently unavailable at the Fredericksburg Battlefield Visitor Center, as we remove old exhibits and prepare the building for new exhibits in June 2014. The information desk, bookstore, and restrooms are available. The Fredericksburg Battlefield Visitor Center is located at 1013 Lafayette Boulevard in Fredericksburg, Virginia. A 22 minute orientation film is offered on the hour and half-hour daily. The cost of the film is $2 for anyone age 10-61; $1 for anyone 62 or older; children under ten are free. Historians lead 35 minute walking tours along the Sunken Road and Stone Wall on weekends and holidays only at 11:25, 1:25, 2:25 and 3:25 through the end of October. There are two sections of the battlefield; Prospect Hill and Marye's Heights. A five-mile driving tour links the two sections beginning at the Fredericksburg Battlefield Visitor Center at the base of Marye's Heights. For those visitors wanting a more detailed tour, a tape tour can be rented or purchased in the bookstore. The tape tour takes approximately three hours to complete.
Really nice Visitor's Center with a great overview of the several battles that took place in the area. It's housed in a neat old building and offers a great video of the battle.
