“charm of yesterday, convenience of tomorrow”
The historic El Rancho Hotel provides a unique Southwest Experience. The El Rancho Hotel was a home away from home for movie stars throughout the 1930s to 1940s who filmed Westerns in the area. Rates are competitive with the big-name motels in the area. The 49er Lounge in the El Rancho was listed as one of the Top 50 bars in the USA by Esquire Magazine. Whether you are in the mood for a Margarita after a long day exploring, excellent Mexican cuisine, or a John Wayne Burger, the El Rancho has a meal for you. Ortega’s Jewelry Store in the El Rancho offers access to some of the best American Indian Artwork available. All of the pieces are handmade by local artists. Navajo jewelry, Zuni Kachina Dolls, and handwoven rugs are offered for purchase.
This is a fun inexpensive place to stop. The room was very dated which could be cool But the bed was not comfortable. The food was ok but the bar was fun.
Good place to stop and eat and take a few pictures of the historic Hotel. The service and food were great. Definitely a place to recommend.
We just stayed one night, but enjoyed every minute of it! It's an old, historic hotel and there's so much to look at in. The gentleman who checked us in was so friendly, he knew everyone and seemed to love getting to see everyone coming in and out. The rooms are small, ours had only a small shower. The beds aren't as comfortable as big chain hotels, but it was all just part of the charm to us. We went to the 49er Lounge for a couple of margaritas and a small dinner. The chips and homemade salsa, and enchiladas were delicious. The little gift shop has tons of beautiful southwest jewelry and art to check out. We would definitely go back and stay again.
I loved staying here with my toddler on our Route 66 trip. It's seriously like stepping back in time. It's dated but in a really fun, nostalgic way. I also had dinner here, enchiladas, and they were pretty good. The lobby is insane. Highly recommend spending the night here or at least stopping for a photo-op.
We stayed last year for one night on our route 66 trip. Great historic place. Pool was nice.
This was a fun place to stay. Paid for a run of the house room and got upgraded for free to the bridal suite because of being on our honey moon! This was a great place to stay!
Loved this place! Such a gem. It was like being in an old western movie. The bar was super fun, excellent margaritas and the food was good too! I would love to come back some day.
