Perfect camping location nestled in a quiet wooded area by a small pond with sandy beach. Our kids ran cross country races on their trails in high school, swam in the pool and pond as kids, and went to several week-long summer youth retreats here with our church. It’s not far from the downtown amenities of Hanover but feels like a world away.

I can't say enough great things about this place.
It's a community recreation area that happens to have a few full hookup camp sites.
Site #1 is completely on it's own, by itself, with E/Q hookup (no dump, but there is a dump on site). The spot is completely private, and nestled under 100ft towering pine trees, some of which are a solid 3 ft thick. There's a babbling brook that runs right next to the site, and moss is covering the ground everywhere. You would think you were in the PNW, not in the middle of the city in Hanover, NH! You could not even see another RV while camping because they're on the far side of the rec area.
I wish we could have stayed here forever, but they only allow a max of 7 day stays. This makes sense, because people would just stay here the whole time.
At night, the rec office people leave and there's nobody around. Totally quiet. No road noise, no people, no screaming kids, no campfire smoke. Just you and the forest.
There's tons of trails right in the rec area which means you can go hiking without even driving anywhere. There's a disc gold course that's pretty tough, community pool, splash pad, and of course the pond itself which is absolutely beautiful being surrounded by drooping pines.
You can find everything you need in Hanover, right down the road.
The only cons about this spot:
- there's not a whole lot to do around here, but there's tons of covered bridges that are worth seeing
- challenging of an access, mainly due to clearance, but our rig is lifted so that's not an issue for us
We would absolutely stay here again.
Verizon was intermittent but was enough to work and stream. Same with AT&T.

One tricky tight turn at the entrance if you follow some navigation apps. You want to come from the East on reservoir road. Otherwise easy getting around, good site spacing, very quiet and wooded. Pond, pool, playgrounds, etc all very close. Great spot, hate to popularize this hidden gem! Great access to health facilities too if a loved one needs to stay at Dartmouth Hitchcock.

First day on 2023 season and we are very disappointed to see they have cut most of the trees down in the RV section to make ski trails. Nearly all sites are now along the road with no vegetation or privacy. The roads are awful and sites so uneven from heavy equipment. Only site 5, 8-11 have a few trees left. Site 1 has been spared, is huge, and by itself but is on the main road, which is busy on the weekends; thankfully it was available as site 11 was so uneven and dug up I thought I would get stuck. Low tree branches prohibited going into #8 & 9. Not worth the $50/nt to be here. Electric and water at RV sites, dump along the roadway, bathrooms. Will not return.

Been camping my whole life and never written a review of a campground but here it is as it would be a moral disservice not to. Worst maintained campground I've ever seen. Reserved site 14; avoid 14 13 and 15 at all costs unless you have a big group qnd want to get all 3. Pictures and map positioning (of these 3 spots at least, can't speak to the others) are about as misleading as getting catfished as these three spots in my opinion should have been one spot that they jammed three into; so much so that two of the spots share the same electric receptacle. Our spot and the one next to it was full of trash including tons of food for critters and bugs to get at, a bucket, dustpan and metal cooking sticks leaving it looking like a frat party had just left before us. Roads in campground are worse maintained then any BLM road I've been on in the mountains all for the hefty price of $50. Some of the other spots look nice but these three are an absolute joke.

Stayed 3 nights Sept 18 to 21. Nice recreation area for the community. Rv sites are a little odd and jumbled but accessible. Be aware local school groups use this facility for outings. Bath house could use a scrub but Hot water was fine. Hanover is a beautiful college town. Enjoyed exploring! Close access to the AT. Some construction noise over the hill for ski area expansion and logging. Great place for kids to play! So-so for seniors.
