“Like Willy Wonka, only less creepy!”
Hershey’s Chocolate World is the name of Hershey's visitor center in Hershey, Pennsylvania, United States. Open year-round, Hershey's Chocolate World offers marketplace shops and restaurants, specializing in Hershey's chocolate products. Attractions include the Really Big 3-D show, the Hershey Trolley Works, Factory Works Experience, and a free Chocolate Tour ride. Hershey's Chocolate World is located off of Hersheypark Drive, in Hershey, PA, and is in an entertainment complex which also includes Hersheypark, Hersheypark Stadium, Hersheypark Arena, Hershey Museum, and Giant Center. Chocolate World Although Hersheypark and Chocolate World are in the same complex, both operate independently of each other. Chocolate World is owned by The Hershey Company while Hersheypark is owned by Hershey Entertainment and Resorts Company (HERCO). However, The Hershey Company and HERCO are both owned by the Hershey Trust Company. Parking is available via a separate lot which is free for the first three hours only, or via the Hersheypark parking lot (when the park is open), which offers a tram service to and from Hershey's Chocolate World. While the facility is open year-round (except Christmas), hours vary depending on the season, ranging anywhere from 9 am to 11 pm.
Absolutely visit! we came in May, and it was the perfect time because it was not very busy yet, so the traffic was great, and the lines were basically nonexistent. the trolly tour was 100% worth the ticket! George was our guide, and he blew me away. hands down the BEST tour I've ever been on. the key: he is a lifelong Hershey resident, and as well as being a talented presenter, he has an extreme wealth of information, as well as a personal connection to the town. absolutely brilliant! the chocolate is really cheap in the gift shop too! $4 for a bag of Hershey Bliss! The chocolate tasting was fun, but did not offer any real insight. the create your own chocolate bar was fun but again was very basic. all in all though, i would highly recommend visiting Chocolate world, and trying everything possible! its a very good time!
Insanity. Lots of flashy lights and loud music. No real "experience" to be had except paying to ride through a 15 minute Hershey's commercial. The Make Your Own Candy Bar is misleading... You choose some ingredients on a screen and watch them assembeled from a distance. Tried it, wouldn't go back. Save your money.
Enjoyed it! A free ride through the chocolate making process and what I believe to be the world's largest gift shop. If your in Hershey, PA, check it out.
We visited in June 2014. There is 3 hours free parking on the grounds. It costs nothing to get in. There is a free ride that explains how chocolate is made. We made our own candy bars for $14.95 each. We also took the trolley tour and highly recommend it. So entertaining!
Not as great as I expected. except for buying some candy, the "make your own candy bar" was nice, but that's it.
Couldn't even get close due to a Jimmy Buffet concert. :(
We have been here several times, over the years. Mostly to do the free chocolate ride. We tend to go in the Spring around Easter or around Christmas.
The free ride explaining how they make chocolate was worth what we paid for it...0 We did enjoy making our own chocolate bar though.
Great free ride explaining the chocolate making process on a moving car ride. Our 2 year old loved the ride and wanted to do it again. Great time, and lots to do here!
Loved making our own chocolate bar and it was interesting to do the chocolate tasting. As you would expect, you can spend a lot of money here, but it was a good memory.
