“experience the taste of Italy”
We are originally from a small town from Sicily called Bisaquino, also known as “La Conca d’ Oro”, where all grains, olives, fruits and vegetables are produced and these are our primary source of living. Times were changing and our father wanted to give his eight children a better future. He decided to bring the family to “the land of opportunity,” America. We arrived in New York in 1963 and settled in Brooklyn. In the beginning the whole family was trying to make its way and we were working in the fields, doing all kinds of jobs. The daily routine and full time job for our mother was getting up at 5:00 AM. to prepare lunches for everyone. This continued throughout the day and into the evening. For dinner, there was always a pot boiling ready to cook pasta for who ever came home. When we had the occasion to eat out, we were always disappointed because the food was never as good as it was at home. We saw a good opportunity to do it better and to do something we all enjoyed, cooking and eating! In 1975, we came to Hialeah and decided to try our “hand” at the restaurant business, and so Di Piazza’s was born. We work together as a family and include our children as well, so a new ger1eration’s of Di Piazza’s are always around. We thank you for your support and patronage, and we hope to be here to serve you for many years more to come.
