Be aware that we are camping prior to the summer season (many amenities such as beach, boat rental, grill not available until Memorial Day) however, the “shoulder season “ provides a quiet, less populated campground which can be enjoyable for those seeking that peace and relaxation. Otherwise the weekends and regular season have lots for families and children!
We reserved a site but when we arrived (too early...checkin is 3pm).... we looked at the walk in sites and found one better suited to our 42 ft motor home. The sites are concrete. There are full hookups and “some” wifi(better when the weekend crowd left). Bathrooms are very clean. The showers require quarters and are very hot. There is a laundromat (we did not use). Lots of walking trails and places to walk your four legged campers.

Original stay in August 2018 when we were newbie full-timers, updated August 2020 on a second visit.
We booked one of the reservable 50A FHU sites. Arrival and pull-in were easy.
There are 19 bookable FHU sites, 41 non-bookable FHU sites. Arrive and get a spot, then you can book it as long as you like.
This is a fairly large campground in a much bigger park, there is plenty of wide-open grass and a lake. The campsites are well spaced, close enough to be friendly, but 30+ feet of space between you and the next RV. It is a lovely campground.
Most of the inhabitants are fairly local, so it gets busy on weekends, but we had multiple options for a Monday-Friday stay. The site includes a concrete pad long enough for even all our wheels, and gravel at the front to full in the gap to the road. They also have parking places for cars, so if your car won't fit in front of the RV it will be close to the RV anyway.
I retain the 5-star rating even after checking out about 80 other campgrounds since our first visit!

Great visit. Park was maybe 1/2 full, the park stopped taking new reservations a couple of weeks ago due to limited staff. This was our first time camping at Groveland Oaks in a camper, previously we rented a cabin. Since we had full hook up, we did not need to use the public bathrooms though are friends commented that they were very clean.
We didn’t think we would like our site, #17 but found that it was on the larger side and a bit more private. Most of the sites had ample space in between though are friends site, #10 seemed a little closer to their neighbors (they were on the inside of the ring).
We have been camping during the week while my sons have been in school and husband worked. We were under the impression, mistakenly that this park offered WiFi. Well, not exactly. There is a hotspot near the restaurant but it doesn’t work. Thankfully we had our Verizon hotspot.
Nothing was open in the park with regards to boats, arcade, putt putt, etc. but it did not take away from our entertainment. Evening campfires, long walks, basketball, playing on the playground and biking.

Immaculate grounds, showers, restrooms. Very well cared for. We had a wonderful time here and will definitely add this as a yearly destination. A lot of stuff for kids if you have them. Skate park/ cool bike coarse/ paddle boats and kayak rentals etc...

This campground has everything I need in a campground: Spacious, walking trails, lake, beach, utilities are reliable, and the grounds and buildings are clean. I've camped here for several years and I can imagine I'll be here again.
There is a 4-lane highway next door, but there is a light amount of traffic. Verizon coverage was 1-2 bars, but it was steady enough for streaming every day. There are a couple hotspots in the campground (near concessions and the bathroom), but no WiFi. The campground is near the Renaissance Festival location, grocery stores, and other parks and is within an easy drive to other cities (Grand Blanc, Clarkston, Flint, even Lansing) that might be of interest.

Stayed here 9/10-13. Really well organized and will-run park. They have an a lot of activity for families. There are lots of tenters, and it’s very busy on the weekend. Even so it wasn’t noisy.
We were lucky to get a spot for two nights and were able to reserve it for a third. Our site didn’t have much shade, but we were all right. Electric and water only. Back in only. There are some pull through but the majority are back in. It cleared out on Sunday with over half of the sites leaving.
They are very attentive to the restrooms and they are clean. The county sheriff patrols the grounds. Close enough to the Renaissance Fair that you could hike there and probably should since the backup getting into that Fair goes about 2 miles. Close to Fenton and Grand Blanc and major interstates. Some general industry noise in the background - not certain what it was but wasn’t bothersome.
Had those hard white rocks on the pad which are tough to get stable on and tougher on the knees if you have to get to lower cabinets on the outside of the RV.

We stayed here during the "Halloween" season so there was lots of decorating and trick-or-treating for the kids. This place is huge with lots of amenities and is very well maintained. The laundry facility could use some updating, maybe a deep-clean. Otherwise no complaints. We had to move sites because we added a couple days, and it was hassle-free. We'd definitely stay again!

This was a nice county. There is a ton to do -if you go on a weekend. Even if you don't - there are trails and three playgrounds, putt-putt golf, fishing...
If you are there on the weekends - they have tons of events for families and kids and the boat rental is open. Full hook-ups and parking for two vehicles. Staff was nice and friendly.
There had been storms and the rain had washed mud/sand onto the slab. They allowed us to wash it off the ground and the bottom around our RV. It was hardened like cement. Wish they could have scraped the front of the pad out when they came around instea dthey scraped along the road and it pushed more onto the pad....
