“tent, pop-up, and full hook-ups”
We are known not only as a family campground, with "tent", "pop-up" & "Full Hook-ups", but also as a place for family fun. Located alongside the Intracoastal waterway at Surf City, North Carolina. Lanier's Campground is a 400+ campsite facility nestled along the intracoastal waterway between Holly Ridge, North Carolina on the mainland side & Surf City, North Carolina on the Topsail Island side. Lanier's Campground has 44 lots available for overnight camping, with the remaining lots occupied by full time, year-round tenants. Lanier's Campground is Currently Managed by Donna Mitchell and Sandra Raynor, both are second generation Lanier children, and both take an active role in the day to day operation of the entire complex. Sandra and her husband Lynn tackle the physical maintenance of the campgrounds many lots and facilities, while Donna wrestles with the paperwork and the phones in the business office. Both share in the responsibilities for the campground's many amenities, such as the Swimming Pool, "Skeeter's Grill", the Arcade, Bingo and the Playground.

Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on June 26, 2019The location of this campground is convenient to Surf City and the beach. It is located just across the bridge on the Intercoastal Waterway. Sadly, that is about the only positive aspect of our experience staying three nights at Lanier's.
There seem to be many more permanent and/or long-term residents than short-term RVers at Lanier's. Many of the permanent trailers are very old and in poor condition. There is nothing wrong with having older trailers and we certainly do not mind parking next to a trailer in disrepair. The issue is the price Lanier's charges is out of whack for the environment.
Other problems and inconveniences include:
1. terrible roads (deep ruts)
2. very narrow lots (barely room for slides on both sides)
3. no landscaping
4. trash in our lot upon arrival
In summary, the condition of Lanier's does not come close to matching the rates they charge.

I was a little taken back by the fact that we were camping in someone's driveway. This was the driveway of the park owners. It did not present any problems. We did have one of the only concrete campsites because of this. All and all my family and I enjoyed our stay. The pool was large enough to accommodate the large number of people that were usually there. My kids loved the playground. The beach was only a short ride away.

Good Sam gave this a 9-9-9 rating which is why we stayed June 8, 2021.Wish I would have paid more attention to the reviews on Campendium. The pool was nice but everything else old and not in good repair. You are charged a bathroom key deposit, yet the bathroom was dirty, one toilet had a large section of top broken off and did not flush. Three different areas for campers. Most looked like full timers or monthly/seasonal campers. We returned our bathroom key, but still have not received credit for key deposit. We have called about this matter, but they say it is a banking issue & could take 7 to 10 days. Never heard of such a thing, a transaction is a transaction whether debit or credit. So far we have been charged $77.00; $6 GS discount, $3 processing fee, taxes, and $20 key deposit. We will not stay here again.

This was a no go for our family. The map makes it look so much bigger. I originally booked the premium water site right next to the Pier for extra room. I called and said I had children and did t want it to be too loud for them where would they recommend? They said oh not by the pier! You want 129 by our cabin rental it’s quiet.
Well. Yes it’s quiet. The whole place is quiet. But 129 is literally the garage of a cabin rental.. where people were staying. It was incredibly awkward. We forfeited our two day stay money and left. They also charged me for and extra person $10 per day because I had 2 adults, 2 kids and a 7 month old baby with us. I found this a little odd. When I asked they said does the baby have a body? Yes it’s $10 per day.
Park is for only very small kids like under 5. No beach. Small pool. Rules posted EVERYWHERE. no coolers at the pool? Not sure about this one. Could just say no glass. But also no alcohol anywhere but your own reserved site. Rules. Rules. Rules.
