Don't be fooled by the kitschy shopping or the bar and restaurant. Feeding the tarpon is the event of the day at Robbies.
Kitschy but cute, great for middle of the day souvenir shopping and a beer
I have had to completely revise my opinion based on my breakfast experience this morning. I would give the breakfast service maybe two stars, the wait people have been completely absent, some of them rude, and we've waited more than 50 min for our food. The dinner service and food was phenomenal - awesome creative drink menu. And of course, if you're only here to feed the tarpon, you'll be blown away.
The kids loved feeding the Tarpon. For just a few bucks you can buy a bucket of food and walk out on the dock to feed the hundreds of Tarpon and other fish circling around. Break out your iPhone in time lapse mode and get some awesome video of the video jumping out of the water to grab a snack from your hands.
There is a market there with all kinds of little merchandise stands selling some really nice stuff. Also some cool artifacts that I think were from the old railroad and some treasures divers have found.
The food was very good and drinks were ice cold.
