This place definitely exceeded our expectations. The campground staff were friendly and welcoming. The sites in our loop (Caddis) appeared to be brand new -- not even a single ash in our fire ring. The sites were spacious with a brand new picnic table and an incredible view of Henrys Lake to the NE. We drove here after a week in Yellowstone and it was a nice respite. There's not much nearby -- which was exactly what we needed for a few days.

We booked this electric/water site ahead of time through the Idaho State Parks website - there is a $10 transaction fee - in order to get a lakeside site during high season. Site 31 is a back-in site right on the lake with fantastic views, but it (and, we observed, some other sites on this loop, Blue Dun) did not have direct access to water, although there was a faucet close by that we used to fill our fresh-water tank. Shortly after our late afternoon arrival an enormous storm came in from the west accompanied by high winds and rain. It was very dramatic and fun to watch from our cosy trailer. We did learn that Henry's lake can be very windy at times, and also has a lot of biting flies. Shade is also at a premium.

Great site, lake views, and a great escape from Yellowstone. Signal and speed from Verizon and AT&T are both stellar.

We camped in our 42 foot fifth wheel and it was beautiful. Plenty to do right in the campground or there is yellowstone a short 30 minute drive away. We kayaked, hiked the loop, and hang out on the lake. There were small leeches in the water, so I wouldn't recommend swimming. Cell service was great and I had 3 different packages arrive for me while we were there. The staff delivered to our RV door!

Logistics: very easy to get to, paved road all the way in. Several pull through sites. If you have the option, find one on the mountain side (not on the side where site 72 is). The mountain side has amazing views. Even though they do have a lot of sites, we felt the sites were large enough to not be piled on top of one another. Water and hookups worked well. The bathrooms and showers are spotless and the hosts are very helpful.
Cell Service: We had enough to work. We have Verizon and T-Mobile. We experienced nearly no service during peak times after dinner/bedtime. We have a booster and despite it showing full bars we found that we couldn't stream anything in the evening. The park is very quiet during the day since most people are gone so we had enough service to work during normal hours. Conference calls, screen share, download/upload worked fine 90% of the time.
Activity: There is a boat launch but when we stayed the water had a parasite so you couldn't swim. There isn't a lot to do besides that. There is a trail around the park but no real beach or play area of kids. The trail around is about 3 miles, very easy and a nice walk when you want to get away from the campground. Aside from that single trail there isn't a lot to do. It's close enough to West Yellowstone so if you have a car this is a great option. If you don't, you might be bored.
This is a great park for big rigs since they have pull-through sites and easy turn arounds. We couldn't figure out why they would spend so much money on pavement but then leave the sites un-even. We spent a lot of time leveling out everyday but it seemed to be site by site that that was an issue. Other campers just pulled in and were ready to go.
A lot of older couples hanging out by their rigs. Nothing wrong with that at all, but don't expect a party or a lot of activity. Beautiful sunsets and the park shuts down before 10 pm.

Stayed in our RV for a couple of nights. Easy access to the lake. Few mosquitoes which surprised me. Our site had power and access to shared water. Other sites had water, power, and sewer hook ups.

We got here one morning to try and get a first come first serve site (got the next to the last one) and really enjoyed it. Some how, we managed to get a site right on the water. We had 50 amp service and a shared water hydrant close enough to fill our tank without moving.
There are a few trees and plenty of common areas for kids and dogs and such. From our site we saw a moose and there were reports of grizzly sightings in the area but we never saw one.
The bathrooms and showers were excellent. The water was nearly scalding hot if you turned it up all the way although on the last night it was just on the hot side of warm. Not sure if they turned the temp down or what but I certainly hope not. The entire bath house was very clean. There is a second bath house that was closed for remodeling but it looks like it will be equally nice.
Cell phone reception isn't bad. Unboosted, 3 to 4 bars of LTE with AT&T and T-Mobile. AT&T consistently got 20 megs down while T-Mobile was fighting to get 2 or 3 megs down.
Nearby laundry is available across the highway at another RV park and you're only a 15 minute drive to the town of West Yellowstone and the West entrance.

A beautiful state park with a wonderful view of Henry’s Lake, mountains and a lot of wildlife (primarily birds, but we did see a moose during one of our visits). The campground is about 30 minutes from the west entrance to Yellowstone National Park. We initially stayed here during a visit to Yellowstone, but enjoyed the state park so much we have returned since to primarily spend time at the state park and the surrounding area. Many of the sites can handle larger RVs (we had no problem, but someone with 45' Fifthwheel might have to get creative parking their truck). Many of the sites are not level, front to back, since they slope towards the lake; this did not present a problem for us, but we did notice many motorhomes had to use blocks under one set of the tires. A few sites have full-hookups (water, electric, sewer), but most are solely water and electric. We enjoyed staying 2-weeks (their stay limit) at this beautiful and quiet state park, several times to date.
