“many trails and natural scenic areas”
Big Foot Beach State Park is one of the last natural treasures in southern Walworth County. Lake Geneva is known for its clear, clean water. The park has many trails and natural scenic areas for outdoor enthusiasts both young and old to enjoy. A 100-foot swimming area is about a 7 minute walk from the campground. You can also have some fun by fishing in Ceylon Lagoon. Fish can be reeled in from the lagoon's pier, two bridges or bank. Fishing equipment is loaned free of charge at the office. Many enjoy canoeing or kayaking in the lagoon as well. The park's 6.5 miles of hiking trails wind through forest land and open meadows. Most trails are relatively short and range in difficulty. The trails are groomed in winter for cross country skiing by park staff. The park provides a few other outdoors activities such as a sand volleyball court, playground, orienteering courses, and a self-guided nature trail with interpretive signs about interesting natural phenomena on the trail. With over 5 miles of fabulous hiking and perfect swimming conditions at its beach, this Big Foot Beach State Park ticks all the boxes. Whether you choose to spend the day with family and friends at Big Foot Beach State Park, or pitch a tent and camp for a few days, this is the place to do so.
We think a visit here is one of the best things to do in Lake Geneva!
There is a thin strip of sand at the edge of the lake which is right at the edge of the road. People park their boats in that part so there's not much room to swim.
