Big Daddy's Roadhouse BBQ was established in 1999 by it's present day owner & founder Kelly Duncan. The location is the corner of Hwy 78 & State Hwy 205. Nestled between lake Lavon & Lake Ray Hubbard in Lavon, TX. We're just passed the East Fork Trinity River. A favorite destination for anglers, bikers & sportsmen. When Big Daddy spotted this location it was a country store - bait shop - Gulf full serve gas station that had been contructed in 1962. The owner at the time when Duncan found it was ready to scrap the building. But, Big Daddy saw the beauty in this old wooden structure and purchased it. Completely remodeled, Big Daddy's Roadhouse BBQ was born. The property the building is located on was part of a large tract of farmland settled in 1899. It stayed in that family until 1999 when Kelly Duncan came into the picture. The building had been constructed in 1962 as a country store & gas station. A lot of people depended on this store for the essentials; milk, bread, gas, kerosene, because back then country folks usually went to town once a month. When the railroad quit passenger service this little store became even more important. A funny note, there were bootleggers that always hung-out around the store. The population back then was 150 people. And now at present day, cold beer and award winning BBQ is served daily at Big Daddy's. Our BBQ pit is burning 7 days a week - come by and taste why!
