Hay Loft Candles

Hayloft Candles is a family owned business in Lancaster County and was founded by Ben and Barbra Smoker in May of 1971. Twelve years later in February 1983, the barn burned to the ground. They began to rebuild the shop using wood from an old shed which was purchased from a neighboring property. During the rebuilding, they made candles in the garage. Then, five weeks later, the shop was completed and was once again open for business. In the mid-1990′s the ownership was transferred to David and Sara Yoder. Over the years, the shop grew into one of the largest candle shops in northern Lancaster County.
