“community winery in Liberty Lake”
Liberty Lake Wine Cellars produces small lots of hand crafted red wine for those who seek out and appreciate limited edition wines. Specializing in single vineyard wines, we feature the fruit of the Walla Walla Valley and Red Mountain AVA’s. We began our wine-making journey in 2004, while on a family vacation. Property purchased for family retreat was repurposed as a winery; a vintage postcard of Liberty Lake inspired a label; and so the journey began… Our first commercial production was in 2005. We jumped right in and crushed 4 tons of Walla Walla Valley fruit, producing 213 cases of red wine. The 2005 vintage was released in June 2008. In 2006, we began sourcing fruit from the Red Mountain AVA. Production was increased annually, and as of 2008, wine production has reached our maximum capacity of 500 cases. In 2013, Doug transitioned to the lifestyle of a full-time wine-maker. During the week, Shelly travels throughout the United States as a Health Care Quality Consultant. Both agree that their weekends and evenings at the winery are where they prefer to be.
