“A cozy place for cozy families”
Logan's Best Playground. Period. The Whittier Community Center was established in 1992 with the mission to: (1.) Restore and maintain the historically significant Whittier school building, and to (2.) Enhance our community and neighborhood through the venue of a community and neighborhood center. To meet these goals, the Whittier Community Center sponsors more than twenty-five local civic organizations that serve all members of the community with an emphasis on children and families. Two Logan City Voting Districts have voted in the Whittier for many years. Free public meeting space and a playground and neighborhood park are available at the Whittier Community Center. Over a thousand children and adults come to the Whittier weekly. Built in 1908, the Whittier School building is one of the last schools built in that era left in the state of Utah. Its history is steeped in a rich tradition of state-of-the-art education for the young child. Declared structurally sound, the Whittier School has been deemed worthy of restoration by the Utah State Historical Society and the George and Dolores Eccles Foundation.
