For over two decades, Portfolio Coffeehouse has been the host to legions of local coffee drinkers! We are the essence of the neighborhood watering hole. Among the tree-lined neighborhoods of 4th Street Retro Row, Portfolio Coffeehouse renders culture, friendship and caffeine fixes to java junkies amidst an eclectic collection of people, vintage furnishings, an outdoor patio, and fine art. With two extensive rooms and a large sidewalk patio, this neighborhood coffeehouse features a lunch/brunch menu, pastries, assorted bottled specialty drinks, and all the caffeine you’d expect from your neighborhood coffeehouse. The first coffeehouse in Long Beach to present poetry readings in 1990, Portfolio Coffeehouse earned the reputation of being on the cutting edge of artistic expression. Portfolio continues to serve as an exhibition venue for emerging West Coast visual artists, Artist exhibitions run from six to eight weeks. Musical artists deliver live entertainment on selected Friday and Saturday nights, and over the years Portfolio has been a location for many film and television shoots, and featured on live radio. Our high-speed internet access creates a place for patrons to work and play over our wireless connection with their portable device. With Portfolio at 4th Street and Junipero on the east and the Art Theater on the west end near the intersection of 4th and Cherry, this block of 4th Street provides a pedestrian-friendly shopping and entertainment destination for downtown residents and visitors alike.
