“preserving the cultural & natural heritage of the southern forest”
Our mission is to preserve the cultural and natural heritage of the southern forest, and to provide a sense of awareness and pride in that heritage through programs of active public participation. The Long Leaf Saw Mill contributed lumber for many projects and endeavors during World War II, especially Higgins Landing Craft. There will be a documentary presented at LSU Alexandria on November 21st that describes this and other contributions from all over Louisiana. Admission is free.
