Tsankawi Ruins Trail

Tsankawi (sank-ah-WEE) was built by ancient Pueblo Indians sometimes known as the Ancestral Pueblo People. Archeological evidence indicates that Tsankawi may have been constructed in the 15th century and occupied until the late 16th century—toward the end of the Rio Grande Classic Period. It was occupied by Ancestral Pueblo people. D

This is one of the coolest hikes I've done in my life! Nothing too challenging here, but there are several ladders and very steep portions that may be too much for small children and the elderly.
The deep cut pathways in the sandstone offer an incredibly unique experience with amazing scenery. The history of this place is well explained by the $1 brochures available near the beginning of the trail. Overall, I highly recommend this roughly 2 hour hike for anyone interested in the history of the area, and for anyone who wants to see the vast natural beauty of New Mexico.
