“"to fresh woods and pastures new!"”

Walden Pond is a lake in Concord, Massachusetts in the United States. A famous example of a kettle hole, it was formed by retreating glaciers 10,000–12,000 years ago.  Famous Writer Henry David Thoreau wrote his famous book, "Walden; or Life in the Woods" about his experience of living at Walden Pond for two years.

Henry David Thoreau lived at Walden Pond from July 1845 to September 1847. His experience at Walden provided the material for the book Walden, which is credited with helping to inspire awareness and respect for the natural environment. Because of Thoreau's legacy, Walden Pond has been designated a National Historic Landmark and is considered the birthplace of the conservation movement. Park Interpreters provide tours and ongoing educational programs. The Reservation includes the 102-foot deep glacial kettle-hole pond. Mostly undeveloped woods totaling 2680 acres, called "Walden Woods," surround the reservation.

So beautiful and serene. We took a stroll around the pond on one of the trails. We found our way to the spot of Thoreau's original cabin and saw the markers and monuments there. It was a crisp and beautiful morning. The water was blue, the sky clear, and the people friendly.

NOT PET FRIENDLY. We showed up with dogs and had to leave because no pets allowed. Very disappointed
