“why just see the city, when you can experience it?”
Top of the Rock is open 365 days a year, 8 AM - midnight (last elevator up at 11pm, hours may vary on holidays), and in addition to Standard Admission, offers many combination tickets for guests who wish to make the most of their visit. Why just see the city when you can experience it? Here’s all the information you need to make your trip to the Top into a journey of a lifetime. This is one of the must-see places to visit in New York City!
Go about an hour before sunset and you will have amazing views of the city with the sun setting over the Hudson River. Then as night falls you will be treated to all of the city lights in Time Square, the Empire State Building, and so on. Be prepared for the cold wind at the top-- I'd suggest gloves if you plan to take a lot of photos (I went to the Top of the Rock on a Friday evening in early March). We did not reserve tickets in advance, but we only had to wait about 20 minutes before going up. Ticket price was $32 at the door. If you are interested in photography, there is supposedly a "no tripod" policy but I saw some people getting away with it.
Best views of the city. If you go its worth the few extra bucks to go all the way to the top. If you go in the fall bring a jackets because it's usually always pretty windy
Been there in October 2015, we went at the sunset. Sooo much cooler than the Empire State because you can actually see the Empire! Just remember to reserve in advance
Pricey but a beautiful 360 view. Best time to go is before sunset on clear day.
This is a much better experience than Empire State Building. They're both impressive, don't get me wrong, but here, you're right on top of Central Park, and they use clear barriers, so your view is even better. Empire State Building just feels like you're in sky-jail. It's less of a tour than the Empire State Building, but it's a quicker trip to the top, which I like. Kind of pricey, but worth it.
