“the oldest building in Mineral Wells”
Don't forget the history of Mineral Wells is now open every Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the 126-year-old Rock School House Museum. Located in the 100 block of N.W. 5th Avenue, Mineral Wells' oldest building serves to educate citizens and visitors of the town's history through relics of days when Mineral Wells was a health spa and attracted more than 100,000 visitors a year. Visitors to the museum see a giant mural from one of the wells, a scale replica of the Hexagon Hotel, photos of turn-of-the-century cars and hand-sewn quilts. A new plasma 55-inch TV will show continual photos from the famous Weaver Collection of photographs. Need something for the kids to do? They can ring the original school bell that called children to class and even get their picture taken in one of the original steam cabinets from the Baker Hotel. And there’ll be cookies.
