“the place where friends meet”
Pub is short for Public Houses were places that people could enter which did not require private membership, thus while the more affluent in society frequented Private Houses which did require membership, the Irish Pub offered the working classes a place of their own. The history of the Irish pub is steeped in culture and lore. An Irish pub of the Middle Ages was a rough-hewn place of natural wood furniture and stone walls. They bore large fireplaces and hanging oil lamps over wood or cobblestone floors. In addition to ale, an Irish pub usually sold essential food and hardware items. The Irish pub was a warm, welcoming place where people socialized, sang, relaxed, told stories, and exchanged gossip and rumors. A good pub would quickly become the focal point of the any community. The Irish Bred Pub & Restaurant is a full service family-friendly restaurant. We offer a variety of menu items ranging from traditional Irish fare(Fish & Chips, Sheppard’s Pie, Guinness Stew) to our classic Pub Burger and award winning Hot Wings. We will be serving Lunch, Dinner and Late night menu. We are also a neighborhood sports bar with multiple televisions and a big screen so you won't miss a minute of your favorite teams. Expect the best Live entertainment every night –Karaoke, Team Trivia, Poker, dancing to the best local music or top DJ’s. Our real goal is to be a central part of the community and create a new “local” in downtown Montgomery-- a place where people can gather again, exchange ideas and make new friends, a place where you can enjoy great food and drink, and enjoyable, quality entertainment, a place not just to spend your time, but to savor your time! We will always welcome your comments--praise or criticism--and by doing so, you will always help us to better serve you, our friends and guests.
