“Best view in the whole park!”
Only a short walk from the paved road and available to wheelchairs, the overlook of the Painted Wall and the Gunnison River is probably the best view in the entire national Park. The Painted Wall is probably the most photographed and talked about part of the Black Canyon. Catching it at the right time of day, the pegmatite veins in the rock wall really stand out and it's a pretty amazing sight. It's also a popular place to rock climb, but it is definitely not for beginners- experts only!
This place is beautiful. It's very interesting to see and think how it was formed. The best time to watch the Painted Wall is in the afternoon to see the amazing colors and outlines made by wall.
