“Serenity in the Heart of the French Quarter!”

An unforgettable boutique hotel in New Orleans’ French Quarter, the Dauphine Orleans Hotel welcomes guests with personalized service in a unique setting. Our historic French Quarter Hotel features buildings that date back to the early nineteenth century, such as our Audubon breakfast room where John James Audubon painted his Birds of America series from 1821-22 while residing at the Audubon Cottages. Guests can take advantage of a quiet and relaxing stay at the Dauphine Orleans, while being within a short walk to the New Orleans streetcar lines, Bourbon Street and the Mississippi riverfront. Our central French Quarter hotel is within easy reach to major New Orleans attractions, Central Business District, Mercedes Benz Superdome and Morial Convention Center. The past blends seamlessly into the present in the Dauphine Orleans Hotel, which boasts a history almost as old and rich as the Crescent City itself. Records of the Dauphine Orleans' site date from 1775, and several of the original structures have survived the test of time. One of our most notable jewels is what is now known as our Audubon Cottage where, from 1821-22, John James Audubon painted his famous "Birds of America" series. The restored cottage now serves as our hotel's main meeting room.

Staff here were lovely, it was clean and had good amenities, and we enjoyed the breakfast and the onsite bar (it used to be a brothel!) but overall, it's a bit more run-down than the photos suggest. We found that it had a lot of character, but it was not as cushy as we had expected from a "boutique hotel." However, given that it's right in the French Quarter I think it might be normal for the area. Very close to Bourbon street, and if you're in a courtyard room you will hear some street noise.

Just a few steps from Bourbon Street, and close to Jackson Park, this 19th century building is classic NOLA architecture. Request a room with a balcony or jacuzzi. There's also a saltwater outdoor pool, and bar that used to be a bordello.
