“Take care of that sweet tooth”
Welcome to the delicious world of Manhattanjack sweet treats. A company built on the belief that hand crafted artisan chocolates and confections should be made with pure simple ingredients, nothing artificial. Lets face it as the creator and executive chocolatier I have quite the “ Willy Wonka “ mind. When I was 4 years old I walked a few miles to a store I recognized with a Hershey sign out front just for a candy bar. The whole world was looking for me, but nothing mattered to me but that insanely creamy chocolate. The passion for chocolate and candy grew with each year, traveling all over this country, it was my priority to find the handmade confection store in every city and small town. After becoming a graduate of the (fancy pants) Culinary Institute of America...which I am extremely proud of. I now had the education to compete in the field of making my own confections and chocolates in the quality I felt was slipping from all others. My partner Coleman Jernigan and I make confections that are all handmade and hand dipped in the old country style of Italian Chocolatiers, using local fresh ingredients and hand cut (unevenly mind you, sometimes) every piece. Now why is it that every ingredient list for a box of chocolates has to have so many unpronounceable ingredients . Lets take a look at our caramels for example, 5 ingredients...thats right just 5, and you distinctively taste every one: Creamy rich local artisan butter, bourbon Vanilla, Brown sugar, a touch of corn syrup and cream. The result is a soft, chewy, creamy caramel that never sticks to your teeth. Our classic Toffees and Brittles are crisp & thin, and again don't stick to your teeth. Match it with the crazy all natural flavors we come up with and you have pleasure multiplied! We here at Manhattanjack wake up in the middle of the night jotting down insane flavor combinations that may become our next fun confection such as our caramel sushi. A log of caramel dipped in different chocolates rolled in different toppings like Oreo crumbs or ground Pistachios and cut into pieces. When turned right side up it resembles candy sushi which we serve, (as a suggestion), on a bamboo cutting board with a wasabi raspberry sauce for dipping and chopsticks. We are ever evolving as a confectionary and hope you enjoy all the fun creations that keep coming. Take a look at our product page and see what next great confection will be delivered to your house. Thanks for stopping by and take care of that sweet tooth!
New York may have the Cronut™, but New Orleans has the "do'sant," courtesy of this Uptown bakery and coffee shop. Artisanal pastries and sweets, from truffles to buttermilk drops, fill the counter, and the menu of hot breakfast sandwiches will help cure you after a long night out.
