We proudly feature coffee from Forty Weight Coffee Roasters. Andrew Ballard and Matt Marks are two talented and skilled guys that source and roast some of the finest coffee available and deliver it to us at peak freshness. They're also stand-up dudes, committed to ethical, responsible, and transparent business practices. They source from small family farms where owners and workers benefit directly. Andrew works his small-batch roasting magic in Upstate New York (somewhere up there), and Matt heads up sales and distribution from right here in the South Slope nabe. When Jamey Hamm opened Roots Cafe in 2009, he wanted to create a space for the  community to meet and gather together while enjoying delicious food and coffee. But his vision went beyond the typical coffee shop mission statement. He sought to share the space with musicians, artists, and vendors living and working in Brooklyn. New owners, Amanda and Christian Neill, are committed to this tradition of community-building and neighborhood support.
