“Future home of the Morbid Anatomy Museum”
The Proteus Gowanus Gallery is an interdisciplinary gallery exhibiting art, artifacts, & books of all kinds. This year's theme: PARADISE. Projects-in-Residence include: Hall of the Gowanus; Fixers Collective; Proteotypes; the Writhing Society; Reanimation Library and Observatory. The museum is also the future home of the Morbid Anatomy Museum, coming later in 2014. The gallery is housed in a former 1900 box factory along the Gowanus Canal. All of the Proteus Gowanus galleries are open during the regular hours of the week for "Study Hall", a space available to writers, readers, programmers and anyone who needs a quiet space and a desk to study. The space is also available to rent for different parties.
