Male Academy Museum

Newnan, having had six field hospitals during the Civil War, was well-known as the "hospital city of the Confederacy." This museum is a local treasure with a superb collection of Civil War memorabilia, including a Confederate battle flag, weapons and equipment, photographs, surgical implements, amputation instructions, plus a Civil War artificial leg. A Battle of Brown's Mill Reenactment is held at Catalpa Plantation.
