“aquatic and marine science educational facility”
We invite you to immerse yourself in the mysteries of the ocean. The Oregon Coast Aquarium is a world-class marine educational attraction nestled on beautiful Yaquina Bay in Newport, Oregon. The Aquarium is a living classroom for all learning styles and ages. As one of Oregon's top tourist attractions, the Aquarium is a vital educational resource for the state, with over 40,000 students visiting the aquarium each year. The Aquarium strives to be a center of excellence for ocean literacy and plays an active role in conservation and animal rehabilitation efforts.
A high quality facility that has great exhibits and is very family friendly, but it always feels small to me, especially for the cost of admission. I've gone several times and finished seeing everything in about two hours. By contrast, in the aquariums in Long Beach, CA, and Camden, NJ, I ran out of time before I did exhibits.
A small but nice aquarium with a focus on local sea life. Would be great for kids.
We spent a couple of hours here. It was nice but we like the Aquarium in Salt Lake better. Being on the coast we expected more.
From shipwrecks and seabirds to seals and jellyfish, this aquarium is all about the wildlife unique to the Oregon Coast and beyond. Don't miss out on their otter exhibit-- it's the cutest thing ever.
For its size its a great aquarium. However If your not really into aquariums it doesn't offer to much more than any other one.
The Oregon Coast Aquarium is home to over 500 species of animals in both indoor and outdoor exhibits (it's also the former home of Keiko, the movie star Orca). Check out the Passages of the Deep, meet sea otters, jellyfish and more!
I don't live in Oregon, but I've been here quite a few times. I have to go every time I'm in Oregon, I love it! It's a really nice, family friendly aquarium.
