Perhaps the best-known movie location in Arkansas is the Old Mill in North Little Rock. In addition to being a stunning example of intricate work by Senor Dionicio Rodriguez, the authentic reproduction of an 1880s grist mill, the structure’s claim to fame is appearing in the opening sequences of the 1939 blockbuster, “Gone With the Wind.” It is located in T.R. Pugh Memorial Park at the corner of Fairway Avenue and Lakeshore Drive and is now a North Little Rock city park. Gone With the Wind is considered by many sources to be the greatest motion picture of all time. It is ranked the #6 Greatest Movie of All Time by the American Film Institute.
“The Old Mill in North Little Rock”
Peaceful hidden gem! A great place to stop and take a break from driving. Close to the freeway with clean bathroom facility. No big crowds of tourists. A must see if you're driving along I-40!
There's so much more than just the little house. A great place for kids to burn some energy, get out their wiggles, and explore without taking too much time to see. Big bonus --- it's free!!!
Beautiful park with restrooms makes this a perfect place to stop on a long drive. Its a great relaxing place to stretch your legs, get some great photos, read a book or have a nice picnic lunch. This park is absolutely stunning plus it is where they filmed Gone with the Wind so it is like taking a step back in time. Definitely a great place to stop to recharge your batteries on a road trip. Can't believe this is a free park it is awesome.
A wonderful stop along the way. Great photo op. Has bathrooms.
Beautiful and fun stop to walk around, stretch your legs and make a pit stop. Bathrooms were clean and there was lots of room for my son to use up some energy.
Super perfect for do some family pictures! Arrived there, I was confused when I saw a huge crowd of people, but then discovered there were a wedding. They left like in 15 mins so then only few people there. I was so thrilled because the backgrounds are stunning. It was on 5th of March 2016.
TIP: Please clean up after yourselves, keep this place beautiful! Please do!
Never seen the movie, but this is a beautiful site. Very relaxing and enjoyable. Definitely worth going.
Absolutely breathtaking! To stand where the opening shot of Gone With The Wind was filmed is something to experience. This is an amazing place to spend some time with your family.
I've never seen Gone With The Wind, but I still found this mill to be a really great place to stop. Lots of photo options. I went the first of April so I'd imagine it would be even better when all the plants and trees are in bloom.
It makes me want to drive 1000 miles just so I can take bridal pictures of my girls here someday. Absolutely GORGEOUS.
Not dog friendly. It looked really cool but we didn't get to explore much for not wanting to leave our dog in the hot car. Intriguing bridge and water features Bathrooms were clean
