“Named after the band!”
On December 5, 2006, Oklahoma City honored the band (The Flaming Lips) with a downtown alley named after the band. Vince Gill and Charlie Christian were also given street names by the city. Flaming Lips Alley is at the center of Oklahoma City's entertainment district, Bricktown.
