Oregon Jerusalem Historical

The society was established in 1963 by a group of concerned citizens led by Miss Josephine Fassett, longtime local educator and leading citizen.  It was incorporated in the State of Ohio as a non-profit organization to preserve historic sites and buildings; to establish a museum to collect, catalog, and store the valuable papers, charts, maps, documents, genealogy and other artifacts portraying the history and development of the community. A replica of a carriage house was constructed at the complex to display our increasing collection.  The first floor houses a replica of a local general store while the second floor has vignettes of a doctor’s office and a living area displaying sections of a bedroom, and a parlor.  Farm implements are also displayed on the first floor in addition to a one-horse sleigh and many tools and devices used by local tradesmen in a by-gone era.
