Orlando SE-Lake Whippoorwill KOA

Best KOA I've ever seen. The pool and hot tub were really nice. The cabin we stayed in was clean and pleasant to stay in. The view of the lake was a great bonus. The location is also close to all the major attractions. Camping here is a great choice!

Have camped here several times. Very clean campground and facilities. Lake side sites are perfect. Other lake view sites also very nice. Office personnel pleasant. Well stocked camping supply area and gift shop. Not close to Disney but only about 45 minute drive away. Lake front sites are not cheap but also not overly expensive. I always recommend this campground to fellow RVers as we now live in Orlando.

We don’t often stay at KOAs because of the cost, but we had a gift card to spend so we treated ourselves to a lakeside site here. I think we lucked out and got the best site, it was definitely the most spacious. Each lakefront site comes with table, chairs, fire pit, grill and 2 person swing. We spent the entire weekend fishing, kayaking and sitting on that swing. Very relaxing. There are multiple docks and boat slips. Facilities are clean and spacious (but there’s only one set of facilities, so it might be a hike from your site). It was oddly the quietest campground that we’ve ever stayed at (human-wise). There are a lot of birds. It’s right next to the Orlando airport, but the planes aren’t very noisy. It was actually pretty cool to watch the planes fly in overhead. Stores and restaurants right outside the campground. Would def come back if I get another gift card!

Everyone was super welcoming and extremely friendly. Bathrooms were nice and clean. We enjoyed the dog park and especially loved that it was lit up after dark. Our site, D13, was really nice. It’s on the end by the canal, so a little more private and secluded.

This was certainly the best managed KOA we’ve ever stayed in. The campground has all manner of facilities, from kids playground, pool and spa, off-leash dog park, extremely well provisioned camp store, beautiful landscaping, and a large staff dedicated to cleaning, manicuring and enhancing the park each day we were there. The location on Lake Whippoorwill is both peaceful and scenic. AT&T cellular reception was good. We live about 90 miles away and were looking for a nice get-away campground. We’ll definitely return. Our lakefront site with its patio, fire pit and porch swing was super.

This was a beautiful little place, clean, great location, great ppl. I think the location was a little too great. We live close to this park & have been there often! This area is really up & coming. Lots of construction of homes & businesses. I know the owners did not want to close down but they were made a generous offer for the land. I just want to save you the drive over only to find out they are permanently closed. :-( we will definitely miss it! Pls check their website before making the drive.
