“a 434-acre multi-use park”

Fort Worden State Park and Conference Center is a 434-acre multi-use park with over two miles of saltwater shoreline and a wide variety of services and facilities.

Campers may enjoy this scenic and historic fort at two delightful campgrounds with 80 campsites that may be reserved up to one year in advance. Both campgrounds have restrooms with showers. Maximum site length is 75 feet (may have limited availability). Beach campground - features 50 full-service (water, electric and sewer) hookup sites tucked between the bluffs and the beaches of Point Wilson. The sites are level, spacious and open; most sites have an amazing view of the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Upper campground - features 30 sites with water and electricity, and a sewer dump station nearby. The campsites are mostly forested, some with privacy. They are fairly level, and quite long. This campground offers easy access to miles of trails. Campsites are popular year round. Reservations are highly recommended. Campgrounds fill quickly year round. NOTE: Campgrounds convert to winter water after Thanksgiving until before Presidents’ Day Weekend (subject to weather). Insulated winter water sources are available in each campground during this time. Please call (360) 344-4431 for individual campsite reservations. Check-in time is 2:30 p.m., check-out time is 1 p.m.
Quiet hours are from 10 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
The park rests on a high bluff overlooking Puget Sound. Many historic buildings remain at this 19th century military fort.

Pets now accepted: Fort Worden now welcomes a maximum of two well-behaved, pre-registered dogs in housing units 16A, 16C, 325 and 336 with a $30 (plus tax) pet fee per night. Staff strongly recommend you take along kennels and water and food bowls for your pets. All shots and tags must be up-do-date. Reservations must be made in advance, and pets must be declared at check-in. Pet owners will be required to sign an acknowledgement and release form.

What a beautiful park, with so much to see and do. We had to buy firewood from the Penny Saver as the park itself didn't sell any by the time we needed it (not sure if this is the case during business hours or not) but we discovered a great grocery store (the food co-op!) and made plans to visit the historic downtown the next day. Plenty of wildlife, does and twin fawns all over the place. The fort was a fun discovery for our kids, they were fascinated with all the secret passageways (small ladders etc). Collecting shells on the beach and searching for crabs! Make sure you check out the orca exhibit as well as the marine science center where you get to touch sea life. We will be back, this was our kids favorite stop on our cross-country road trip. (Ages 11 and 8) One night was about $45 for our popup.
