“Where everyone's a friend and neighbor”
Jim and Patty Roberts have been making great coffee and pastries since 1974 when they set up their coleman stove at Eugene’s Saturday Market to try to work their way through school. By night they made baklava, by day they made great coffee. School finally came to an end. Then came the long years of creating and running a couple of Portland’s most beloved coffeehouses… First there was Coffee Man, then they founded Coffee People in 1983. In 1998 they left Coffee People to pursue new adventures. (Coffee People® is a registered trademark of Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Inc. Corporation. Jim and Patty’s™ is not affiliated with Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Inc. Corporation.) After all these years, the coffee and pastries are better than ever–maybe practice does make perfect! Sons Patrick and Saul and daughter Myra join them to continue a family tradition.
