“Portland's French Cuisine since 1996”
In 1996, a small group of friends came together to share their passion for food and pastry from their home country, France. Soon after, they decided to open La Provence Bakery & Bistro, located in Lake Oswego, Oregon. By popular demand, and to accommodate a growing wholesale bakery, they opened a second shop on SE Division Street in Portland, Petite Provence Boulangerie & Patisserie. This location has a special glass door in the dining room so you can see the bakery at work. An opportunity arose to expand to The Dalles, Oregon, and in 2007, Petite Provence of the Gorge was opened for business. The newest member of the family is Petite Provence on NE Alberta Street in Portland. Located in the heart of the Alberta Arts District, Petite Provence is excited to be part of this up-and-coming neighborhood. As a group of restaurants, we try to keep our menus and offerings similar, while still allowing our chefs creative freedom to give each location its own special character. It is our goal to bring you a bit a France with each visit. We also strive to use local products whenever possible and be environmentally responsible.
Premium French breads and pastries from the counter to go, or sit down for table service and a full menu. There is often a small band playing, and the service is efficient. I am always pleased with the hearty and wholesome menu offerings.
I had breakfast here in October and it was great. I seem to remember getting food envy of what my friend had though, some kind of thing in a pot - get that!!
