“Tribute to the early settlers”
The Pilgrim Monument commemorates the history of the Mayflower Pilgrims, their arrival and stay in Provincetown Harbor, and the signing of the Mayflower Compact. It is the tallest all-granite structure in the United States. Visitors can walk to the top on a series of stairs and ramps.
On a clear day you can actually see some of Bean town's tallest buildings! Pro Tip: buy a bottle of H20 before you start climbing (or better yet bring your own). The stair/ramp hike is not a walk in the park, but it's worth it for the view from the 252-foot tower.
How can you not visit the Monument when you're in P-Town? The view is fabulous, and cool on a hot day. Be ready for a climb though.
