“naval shipbuilding museum”
"The bumps in the night could be explained away. The banging of deck hatches — open and shut, open and shut — were easy to ignore. But when more than one person reported seeing a ghost-like figure toiling at the machinery on the USS Salem’s bow, Michael Condon wondered if more was at play than the typical groans of an aging, Cold War-era cruiser. “I’m just going to say this: While I have not seen anything, I certainly have heard things,” said Condon, the ship’s executive director. Is the USS Salem — named for the Massachusetts city — haunted?" Ghost Hunters location. (Season 5 Ep 16 Oct 2009)
Great experience to see an warship up close. Unfortunately the pier that the Salem is docked at is closed for repairs and will not be able to accommodate the Salem. It will be moved to a pier in Boston.
The last I heard about the dock is that the land was purchased by an outside party. They are going to rebuild the grounds and dock. They have made an agreement with the USS Salem to keep her in Quincy.
