“Entertainment & Nightlife in Roseburg, OR”
Music on the Half Shell is an all volunteer, non-profit organization. Its mission is to provide the residents of Douglas County with the opportunity to enjoy a wide variety of music, from country to classical, not otherwise available without paying a substantial fee and traveling to a major city. The Music on the Half Shell Committee strives to provide music of the highest quality in a family atmosphere and beautiful setting. Both cash and in-kind donations have made it possible for MOTHS to accomplish this mission for the last 23 years. In 2010, close to 60,000 people, of all ages, from all walks of life, attended the Tuesday evening eight concert series to hear the likes of Sly & Robbie, Robben Ford, Acoustic Alchemy, Vieux Farka Toure, Hawiian World Music, Brave Combo, Jonatha Brooke and Susan Tedeschi Sponsorship from corporate and individual contributions, grants, audience donations, concessions and merchandise sales together with thousands of volunteer hours, have made Music on the Half Shell what it is today; a weekly event that truly brings people from all walks of life together to listen to quality music, socialize and feel a sense of pride and comradery in the great community in which they live.
