Bruster’s was founded in 1989 by a man whose passion for extraordinary ice cream and stellar customer service runs deep. Born into the restaurant business, Bruce Reed opened his first Bruster’s in Bridgewater, Pennsylvania, after perfecting his recipe for rich, creamy homemade ice cream. People came from miles around to enjoy the skillfully prepared desserts that Bruce created right in that first store. It got to where he had to expand to keep up with the growing demand for his ice creams. Before long, Bruster’s became one of the fastest expanding ice cream stores in the country and Bruce regretfully all but stopped wearing his apron to work.
