“treats for everyone to enjoy”
Savanna, my daughter, is the inspiration to the start of Gluten Free Cutie. My daughter has allergies to gluten, dairy, and artificial dyes. As an infant my daughter had horrible stomach aches, erratic behavior and developmental delays. I knew something was wrong. She had sleeping problems as well. I soon found out that she was on the Autism Spectrum. She had many issues with communication and sensory problems. After tons of research and talking with a family member who has a child with autism, I decided to take her off gluten and dairy. After 2 weeks of withdrawal and cleaning her system from the toxins, she suddenly was a changed child. She could put together 3 word phrases “I love you” for the first time. She was calmer, the obsessive crying stopped, sensory problems began to fade and she could finally sleep through the night. I especially want kids with these allergies to have something wonderful and exciting to eat on their special occasions and for fun as well. When my daughter tried one of my Gluten Free Cake Pops for the first time, it brought tears to my eyes to see her enjoy something that was cute but also good for her. I was also tired of going to birthday parties with my daughter and not having anything fun for her to eat while everyone else is enjoying cake.
