“the coolest place for a kid to be”
The Play for All Abilities Park was 5 years in the making and has truly been a community-wide effort. In 2006, the City of Round Rock was approached by Round Rock citizens Kenneth and Dennis Seymore to consider applying for a Boundless Playground Outdoor Grant. Although the City was not awarded the grant, the City Council realized there was a great need for a universally accessible park and added the project as a high priority project in the Parks Master Plan. Two years later, the City was approached by Marge Tripp and Sunrise Rotary organization about installing an adaptive swing for children with autism. While the City agreed there was a need for areas for children with autism to play, the City remembered the need expressed during the boundless playground grant application process. With these two requests in mind, the City began development of a park plan that would provide ALL children, regardless of ability, with an opportunity to play and develop skills in a fun, outdoor environment. With that in mind, the City Council approved using a portion of Rabb Park for the Play for All park, as well as allocating $200,000 toward park construction to get the project started.
I think this is one of the best parks around! Lots of different things to stimulate learning as well as play. My son enjoys the playing in the town area. Great place for all kids!!
Love this playground! It is very large, clean and plenty of room for the kiddos to run around in. There has been some really nice upgrades to it lately. The equipment is all really safw and thoroughly thought out in the engineering stages. Very impressive. They even have areas now for group gatherings!
I couldn't agree more with the previous reviewer that this is the best park around. Whenever our god kid comes to visit us we always bring him here as he loves this park. This park even has little village of HEB, fire station, wag a bag, medical center, dealership, etc. Tables and benches under the tree where parents can hang around while kids run around.
