Blue Mermaid

The Blue Mermaid Chowder House & Bar is where the ocean's lore and San Francisco's wharf history come together in a deliciously vibrant fashion. Housed in the historic Haslett Warehouse along with the Argonaut Hotel on Fisherman's Wharf, the Blue Mermaid is named after the exquisitely beautiful creature that is said to call the waters of San Francisco Bay her home. Whether our namesake is fact or fiction, one legend that is undeniable is our food, in particular our chowders.  Complementing this decadent lineup of chowders (six different types in all) are breakfast, lunch and dinner menus the entire family will enjoy. There's even a kids' menu geared specially to the little wayfarer's tastes. All of our dishes are prepared in an environmentally gentle way, including following the Monterey Bay's sustainable fisheries guidelines. Our "fresh, local and sustainable" practices are part of Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants' commitment to safeguarding the environment.
