“naighborhood seafood restaurant”
The Hyde Street Seafood House & Raw Bar has been a San Francisco establishment since 1985. Since the very first day, our staff has sought to serve the most delicious cuisine in a welcoming atmosphere. Whether dropping by for raw oysters and drinks at the bar, or staying 'til the last bite of the house made desserts, locals and out of towners alike return time after time to our location tucked between Nob Hill and Russian Hill. Inspired by the beautiful Bay we call home, the restaurant decor is reminiscent of a ship's cabin. Nautical map lined walls, wood plank benches, and romantic dimmed lanterns were chosen in the spirit of the freshest seafood that is at the very core of our cuisine.
Great atmosphere and service. Food was just a bit above average. Could have used a but more flavor to spice things up. Fish seemed fresh though and that's always a great sign for a seafood place. I'd give them another try next time I'm in town.
Ate here yesterday as we fancied seafood, happened to be nearby and Yelp listed it as the 3rd best seafood in SF.
It is not the 3rd best seafood in SF, it's cooked about right, but pretty flavorless, as are the boiled vegetables it's served with. It's 70's food really.
That said that the bistro atmosphere of the place is quite nice.
