“Pucker up”
In the small town of Shamrock, Texas is a HIGHLY protected piece of blarney stone. This isn't just ANY Blarney stone from the rolling hills of Ireland. It hails directly from the bluestone of Blarney Castle in Cork, Ireland. The specialist that placed it here claims it had 'accidentally' fallen off the castle. Regardless, it is a highly regarded monument to the Irish roots of the town-hence the concrete encasement. The folklore of Blarney stone comes from a Blarney stone being placed in the castle that was claimed to never be touched again. An individual, with speaking inadequacies, was told if he kissed it that he would have 'speech so soft and words so fair'. It was true, that man became one smooth talking sun-of-a-gun. Since, tens of thousands have kissed the original Blarney stone. So if you pass by Shamrock, pucker up, and don't be fooled by the false, even more touristy Blarney stone nearby. (Hint: real one is in concrete with a plaque, false one has a leprechaun on it)
Don't do it!!!! Biggest waste of time! In some park in the middle of some very shady houses & people. We couldn't believe what we got out of the car for.. With 5 kids..
The stone is right on Main Street in Blarney Stone Plaza, on the corner of Main and 2nd St. There’s a metal sign/archway at the entrance but it’s hard to see before you come up on it. Come into town from I40 down the historic Main Street and the park will be on your left. Just past the Texas Theater. Continue down 2nd to see a really cool Magnolia Station next to the Pioneer West Museum too.
It moved to 2nd & Main but you have to go kiss it for the luck !!
The Blarney Stone was worth the kiss! We stopped by passing through at 5am and it was 19 degrees. No, our lips didn't freeze to the stone. We couldn't find it at first and thought it was next to the water tower but its not. I read another review stating it was on main st. And 2nd. It's across the street from it up a street or two on second and main.

Hard to find in this ghost town. Love stopping for these things so worth it to me. There is a small park area and good photo opp and time to stretch :)

So I am doing the things I feel like I might never get to do again, like drop my Irish Behind rt down into Shamrock TX and Fox the Blarney Stone! So happy. Go to the water tower and make a left left again on S Texas and it on the NE corner
Located in a park in the middle of nowhere, save time and go to the town museum! The lady who works there is super friendly.
Really not worth it. Nice park for kids to stretch the legs, but that's it.
