“Start your adventure here”
Hiking the Appalachian Trail can be a great adventure, and part of the appeal is getting away from civilization and the comforts, security and predictability of home. In unfamiliar settings where unpredictable weather, unfamiliar terrain, and the unexpected are the rule, planning and preparation are keys to an enjoyable and safe hike. The Appalachian Trail courses over 2,176 miles from Georgia to Maine and travels through some of Georgia’s most scenic hiking areas. This 8.6 mile, southbound Appalachian Trail hike travels from the beautiful Three Forks trout creek valley near Ellijay to climb the southernmost point of the AT, Springer Mountain.
So this is worth the photo alone I think BUT. AND THIS IS A HUGE BUT, you are In one of the best state parks while doing this! So glad we stopped more for the park! amicalola falls park! Get your tennis shoes on and get ready for stairs (if you want you can drive too! So don't worry about that!). The falls landings were an easy walk but if you want to do the crazy stairs! Do it!
