“One of the most haunted places in Ohio”
Prospect Place, also known as Trinway Mansion and Prospect Place Mansion, is a 29-room mansion built by abolitionist George Willison Adams (G. W. Adams) in Trinway, Ohio, just north of Dresden in 1856. It's known as one of the most haunted locations in Ohio. Because of it's current state of decay the house has allegedly been used as a meeting place for a Satanic cult, who use the building and its energies to secretly perform rituals. The building was is also a stop on the underground railroad, and was witness to countless deaths. One of the ghosts regularly spotted at Prospect Place is the spirit of a young woman who died when in a fevered stupor, she fell over the edge of an outdoor railing to her death. The barn, which is known as the most haunted area on the property, is haunted by the sprits of 7 men who where hanged while trying to escape to freedom. Prospect Place has been featured on Ghost Hunters and Ghost Adventures.
Updates at Prospect Place mansion! Effective May, 2017; a new Board of Trustees have taken over responsibility of the mansion, estate, and nonprofit organization. In that short period a Herculean effort has been made at cleaning up the "old girl," and resuming long neglected restoration projects. Though undertakings like this do no produce instantaneous results, the progress thus far has been nothing short of incredible. Sure, there are many legends and ghost stories that surround the mansion and its important past, but the historic preservation of this national gem is no less important. Come and see it for yourself!
This is a beautiful old house with a fantastic history! The tours are always so interesting. I can't wait to see the house after it is completely restored!
