“a monument to failure”

Monument commemorates Evel's unsuccessful 1974 attempt to jump the Snake River Canyon on a rocket cycle. The actual jump site is visible in the distance

What an amazing place to visit. There's much to see here, not just the evil Knievel monument. The monument itself is located in the back parking lot behind the outback steakhouse on the east side, where the trail meets the bridge.

I couldn't find this! The address listed is not correct. Regardless, I stopped at one of the scenic views from the side of the bridge over the Snake River and it was beautiful.

Great stop! The Twin Falls visitor center was a great little store and had lots of good information to share. We walked under the bridge and watched 6 base jumpers jump off the bridge. That was cool to see!
We then went over to Mo’ Bettah for lunch, which was a delicious Hawai’ian plate.
This was a great place to stop!

Perfect easy stop. We are traveling in our converted bus. Paved parking lot. Lots of easy trails. And there’s the canyon overlook as well as a visitor center. We stopped and enjoyed about a 30 minute break and this was the perfect spot to do so. Breathtaking views.

We stopped at the Visitor's Center on our way to Shoshone Falls. Breathtaking views of the Snake River. We enjoyed the nicely paved trail to stretch our legs and take in the view of the Snake River from various angles.

Couldn’t ever find the marker but the gorge is breathtaking. Want to kayak under the bridge next time. Recommend parking in the parking lot of businesses instead of where the Road Trippers map room us to. We had to walk and weren’t allowed to park in the neighborhood.

Windy the day I visited but evidently unknownWendy days you can watch based jumpers off of the bridge. There is also a visitor center near the monument.

I'm so glad we stopped. Not only did we get to see the famous Snake River, but also the place where Evel Knievel set out to defy the odds. It was also a great place to stretch out your legs, walk around, and go to the bathroom. Many restaurants and stores are around this area.
