To conserve genetic diversity of tigers while preserving tigers and educating people to provide sustainability for these endangered species.
It's a nice facility with some well cared for animals. The big cats are easy to see along the walking tail. We did the self guided tour and was given a book to read along the way that told information about where each cat came from and more. The staff was friendly and informative. I recommend taking the time out of your trip to check this place out. Our little ones also really enjoyed it.
They take great care of their animal residents. They also have many knowledgeable employees who are quick to answer questions and tell you all about the various cats. I loved being able to get so close to them. It looks like they are expanding in the near future.
We stumbled across the Tiger Creek Wildlife Refuge on a recent trip to East Texas. This is truly one of the most amazing efforts of wildlife conservation I have ever seen. Over a dozen tigers, lions, and other big cats call the refuge home and visitors are within feet of them at any given moment. It is truly an incredible experience to see these majestic creatures up close and personal. If you're in the area, plan on a visit.
